Visitors arrested after violent incidents

Three visitors have been arrested after alleged assaults on Queenstown residents in the resort at the weekend.

Senior Sergeant Craig Brown, of Dunedin, said two male visitors aged 22 and 21 were arrested by Queenstown police about 2am on Saturday after an alleged assault near the mall to which officers were called about 1am.

Two Queenstown men, aged 20 and 19, were involved in an altercation with the visitors and received minor to moderate injuries, Snr Sgt Brown said.

Yesterday, a 20-year-old female visitor was arrested about 2.30am in relation to an assault outside the Night 'n Day Foodstore on the corner of Church and Camp Sts.

The woman allegedly punched a 26-year-old Queenstown woman following an altercation, Snr Sgt Brown said.

The victim had minor injuries.
