Western Force No8 Ben McCalman has been suspended for two weeks for his tip tackle on Highlanders prop Kane Hames.
McCalman received a yellow card for the tackle, which occurred eight minutes from the end of the game between the two sides at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday night.
Judicial officer Nicholas Davidson said the tackle was dangerous and it was only that Hames used his arms to break the fall that saved the prop from landing on his head.
But he said with McCalman's guilty plea and previous good disciplinary record, McCalman's punishment was reduced from four weeks to two weeks.
He will be free to play again on April 5 when the Reds host the Force in Brisbane.
