It may not be a hot August night nor a September morn, but the sounds of Neil Diamond will echo nonetheless.

The Sweet Caroline Tour: A Tribute to Neil Diamond opens in Oamaru tomorrow night.

The seven-person performance showcases some of Diamond’s biggest hits along with some lesser-known songs.

Zac Coombs, who plays Neil Diamond in the show, said he loved the way the tour group had put their own spin on Diamond’s songs.

"We aim to showcase this talented songwriter in all his glory to the people of Oamaru so they can sing and dance all night long."

Oamaru is the 13th performance on the 23-show tour across the country.

This would be the second time the show was performed in Oamaru as it was also a stop on the 2021 New Zealand tour.

Coombs said he was looking forward to returning and performing here.

Neil Diamond is a singer and songwriter best known for Sweet Caroline.

He toured for 50 years before he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2018.
