The Sixties Cyclers group is celebrating five years of getting on their bikes for adventurous rides.

Founded by then sprightly octogenarian John Jensen — now an equally vigorous nonagenarian — the group is still going strong.

John is still at the helm, as co-ordinator, ably supported by his cyclers, who have a collection of modern electric bikes and head out as a group whenever the weather is suitable. Like many of the groups within the Dunedin 60+ Club, the Sixties Cyclers is based around the club’s core aims of fun, friendship and fellowship, while also encouraging retirees to remain active. The Sixties Cyclers have been out and about on many adventurous rides, including Taieri to Green Island, Middlemarch, Waikouaiti, Hawksbury Lagoon and more.

The new look Dunedin 60+ Club website, www.dunedin60plus.co.nz, includes the contact details for the Sixties Cyclers.
