The speedy son of Coats Choice lacked some racing room at the tail end of the Railway Stakes, finishing 3 lengths behind the winner, Bounding.
His trainer, Paul Richards, was fairly satisfied with Natuzzi's run.
''He just ran out of room in the last 100m. He wouldn't have won, but he might have run third or fourth,'' Richards said.
''He's up to them, I think - he just needs a truly run race. They went for a bit early and then buttoned off mid-race and sprinted home.
''They ran their last 600m in 34 and a-half [seconds], so you've probably got to run your last 600m in 33, which makes it a bit hard.''
Final Touch remained in the Telegraph nominations after second acceptances yesterday, which means Richards may have to find a jockey to replace Chris Johnson, who is expected to stick with Final Touch.
''We'll see what happens. There will be plenty of riders around, I would imagine.''
The 5yr-old has stayed on at Richard Collett's Pukekohe stables and will travel down to Wellington from there.
''I'm not sure if Richard is bringing anything down for Trentham or not, but if he does, he will come down with theirs.
''He pulled up fine - we took a bit of blood off him and checked him out, but he seemed good after the race.''
