McCullum, who is playing for New Zealand A against the Invitational XI in Lincoln, which concludes today, will fly to Dunedin tonight and line up for Albion against Taieri at the Brooklands ground in Mosgiel tomorrow.
Albion club president Grant Ford said McCullum had always been a supporter of grassroots cricket and wanted to play for his club side.
Ford believed McCullum last played for Albion about a dozen years ago.
Though it had yet to be decided what number he would bat, he was expected to be in the top three.
''It will be a bit of a buzz for the guys he is going to play with and also the Taieri guys to play against the current captain of the New Zealand team,'' Ford said.
McCullum first started playing club cricket at Albion when he was about 5 and had given plenty of Black Caps clothing and other memorabilia to the club.
Ford said the idea to play had come from McCullum, and the club was fully supportive of the decision.
The side has a one-day knockout match against Otago Boys' High School on Sunday but McCullum will be training with the Black Caps and not be available. The match on Saturday is a 50-over game.
There is a possibility Otago Volts players Nick Beard and Mark Craig may play for Albion tomorrow, though that depended on their commitments with the representative team.
McCullum will captain the Black Caps in the first test against the West Indies, which starts at the University Oval on Tuesday.
McCullum's inclusion tomorrow should give a boost to the Albion side, which had a game to forget last week.
The team was dismissed for 69 against Kaikorai and ended up losing by eight wickets.
