Resplendent in their house colours, St Hilda’s Collegiate School pupils got their sports day in the sun yesterday.
The Dunedin secondary school’s first scheduled sports day was rained out last month, St Hilda’s acting principal Judy Maw said.
Yesterday, pupils enjoyed the fine weather at the school’s annual celebration of sport, she said.
Most of the school’s about 450 year-7 to year-13 pupils were at the Caledonian Ground to take part in what she called a "very positive" approach to a lot of different events.
"We put an emphasis on participation — we have some very competitive athletes, but we also like to make sure that everyone does some of the events every day," Mrs Maw said. "It’s good."
