What's involved in your job?
Building and maintaining the terrain park, which is the most fun, maintaining runs, creating the perfect corduroy and living the dream.
What skills or experience do you need?
You definitely have to be comfortable to operate heavy equipment.
Before you can drive a snowcat you will have to go through extensive training.
Operating the cats can be dangerous at times.
Also, you kind of have to be a night owl to do this job as we mainly work while everyone else is sleeping/partying.
What were you doing before you joined NZSki?
Working at Bear Valley as a park groomer and a professional ski patroller.
Highs of the job?
The sunrises up here are epic; I get so see them almost every morning.
Shaping the park for the guys and girls to enjoy and watching them throw down giant tricks is awesome as well.
Lows of the job?
Waking up to the sound of everybody partying and then having to go to work can be very hard sometimes.
Your most memorable skifield moment?
I think I have the best job in the world, so pretty much every day is filled with memorable moments.
I've been skiing since I was 18 months old and I've met so many great people on and off the slopes.
It's just too hard to pick a single moment as there have been so many of them.
Best part of living in Queenstown?
It's a toss-up between the nightlife and the scenery, but then the nightlife does have a pretty good scenery as well.
Worst part of living in Queenstown?
Can't say there is a worst part.
Best piece of advice for people who come here for the season?
Get here before the rush and secure a house early - most important thing.
