People could bring in and get rid of their recyclable waste, such as electronics and metal.
Those who wanted to sort out their waste normally had to go to Green Island to do so, which was a barrier for some. Creating a way for the community to clear out recyclables helped waste get to where it needed to be.
The event also expanded into North East Valley Normal School, where warm food, entertainment and free second-hand clothes were available.
The event was last held in 2019. It had proven to be quite popular, but was not quite as busy as it was before Covid-19, Mr Dell said.
