Website address omitted

The Otago Regional Council electoral officer says a mistake was made when the website address for a candidate was omitted in the candidate profile booklet enclosed with voting papers.

Electoral officer Anthony Morton said the profile statement for Dunedin constituency candidate Ross Davies was missing a website address.

"Unfortunately, the error occurred in the proofing and printing process," Mr Morton said.

In a statement yesterday, Mr Davies said he noticed the mistake by chance when he went to the council website and saw his web address had been removed and that it was too late to fix the mistake in the candidate profile booklets.

He was the only candidate for the Dunedin constituency of the Otago Regional Council to offer a website link on his profile.
