Who is the Suzuki Splash for?
The Suzuki Splash is a great car for someone who will do the majority of their driving around town and wants good storage, great fuel economy and an easy car to get in and out of.
The Design
The first thing you'll notice about the Suzuki Splash is its high frame, almost a box shape which is great for it's intended market. It has a high A-pillar which gives you loads of head room, in fact you can almost walk into the car.
Both front seats are also high and height adjustable so if you, or your passenger, have mobility problems then this is a fantastic feature.
The Mechanics
The Suzuki Splash has a 1.2 litre engine so the fuel economy is one of it's big strengths, 5.7 litres of fuel for 100km with the automatic and only 5.2 with the manual.
The Splash has the standard Suzuki safety features such as six air bags with Electronic Stability Control.
The cabin interface is a nice and simple in its design, the speedo is big and takes up most of the eye-space on the dashboard and CD player comes standard with audio controls placed on the steering wheel.
The boot space is good with a second level below plus if you have extra large items the back seats fold completely flat which is a feature that a lot of cars don't have.
The Drive
The Splash is fantastic for zipping through traffic and handles well. The Splash is not aimed at open road driving but as with all Suzuki's it still handles 100kmhr + with ease and is more than capable of trips up and down New Zealand.
Once you get into the Splash it feels like you've just got yourself into a big car it has loads of room both for you as well as your passengers.
Summary:
The Splash is another fun car from Suzuki and has been designed for people who want a smaller car with plenty of space. The advantage of its shape is that things like parking and squeezing through traffic becomes a lot easier because you know exactly where the corners of the car are. It is also so easy to get in and out of that it is the perfect car for around town.
