Speaking at the Keep Dunedin Beautiful Community Awards on Tuesday, Mayor Aaron Hawkins said the group had grown tremendously since the ’60s and was one of the city’s most valuable beautification and sustainability programmes.
"We really appreciate the commitment of volunteers who make this programme so successful because without them it wouldn’t exist."
Schools, community groups and individuals were celebrated on Tuesday at the awards ceremony at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.
