Bradken is selling its $1.77 million Dunedin foundry, as it plans to move its operations to Hillside.
The global manufacturing company has put its existing 0.549ha of property on the market, subject to deadline treaty closing June 6.
Its five titles near the Dunedin Railway Station could be sold individually or together. Tenants might also be considered.
As of 2010, the five sections have a collective capital value of $1.77 million, land value of $909,000 and improvements worth $861,000.
The total annual rates bill is $21,375.
Colliers International agent Peter Gale said the sale was limited to land and buildings.
Bradken has leased the Hillside foundry for five years from KiwiRail to expand its operations.
In January, Bradken industrial general manager Matthew Criss refused to answer questions about when workers would move to the South Dunedin site and if the original foundry would be retained.
He would not confirm how many Hillside workers Bradken employed.
Mr Criss, of Bradken's head office in Australia, did not respond to a request for comment yesterday.
In a statement late last year, when the lease was confirmed, Bradken said its capability and capacity would be increased at Hillside.
The company had a 48-year history in Dunedin, where it employed about 50 people to make iron and steel castings.
Internationally, Bradken employed more than 6000 people and had 34 manufacturing facilities. Almost all its New Zealand staff were in Dunedin.
