Bad weather delays Air Safari

Bad weather has delayed the start of the Flying New Zealand Air Safari.

Thirty-four planes and 60 pilots and passengers were due to fly from Masterton to Wanaka, via Hokitika, today.

However, Safari director Daryl Hone said low cloud had kept some planes grounded in Masterton and others grounded at their home airfields.

With the weather improving, he expected the safari to reach Wanaka tomorrow and it would continue on to Taieri on Thursday as scheduled.
