Railcar excursions from Dunedin to Oamaru are proving popular.
Tomorrow's second trip in three months by the Dunedin Silver Fern railcar to Oamaru was almost full with 85 passengers booked on the 94-seat railcar, Taieri Gorge Railway Marketing officer Louise Burnside said earlier this week. Tomorrow, three trips will also be run between Oamaru and Maheno, but only a few bookings had been made for this shorter 45-minute excursion, Ms Burnside said.
The Taieri Gorge Railway was considering basing the railcar in Oamaru for several days for trips to Dunedin, but no decision had been made about the dates for these trips, or for other trips to Oamaru, she said.
