Council parks and recreation group manager Scott MacLean said the next step was to build the remaining foundations, the plant room slab and pool slabs.
"While this is under way, further work on the steel and timber structure will be progressed off site."
At some stage during the year, the old pool (top right) would be demolished.
It was hoped changes to the Gordon Rd-Eden St intersection, required as part of the pool project, would begin in September, and the new pool would open mid-2023.
Taieri Community Facilities Trust chairwoman Irene Mosley said the community was gaining pleasure seeing the milestones as the pool project took shape.
"... the reality is exciting for everyone on the Taieri ... it will make the build-time seem less because we are seeing the progress first hand."
