After staging a successful virtual food festival, Coin South decided to put into action what has been discussed.
Chief activator Louise Evans created a Southland tasting box with a range of delicacies from producers across the region.
‘‘We hosted the Grow It festival and we realised that we were talking a lot about the food and products, but I found what we were missing was to have people trying them out.
‘‘So this is a way to lead Southland or Murihiku to some of the amazing producers in our region.’’
The first lot would be delivered this week, and due to high demand, she was planning to continue to provide it.
‘‘That is a clearly a demand for it and I know there a couple of people interested in creating gift packs for Christmas ... In the summer we could something with the fruits and vegetables as we have delicious strawberries and blueberries.
‘‘This place and our people are what makes our food insanely good.’’
