A 27-year-old man is due to appear at New Plymouth Court today charged with the manslaughter of a jogger at Labour Weekend.
Anne McCullough (45) was running on Frankley Rd on Saturday afternoon when she was hit by a car.
A member of the public later found her body dumped in the back seat of a purple 1987 Holden Commodore 10km away.
Mrs McCullough's friends have remembered her as smiling, caring community-minded person.
Her father, Ike Flavell, played rugby for Taranaki and her father-in-law was John McCullough, a former All Black, said a family friend.
A funeral for Mrs McCullough will be held tomorrow.
