Entries are open for both the iD Fashion Show, which is New Zealand's longest-standing retail fashion show, and the iD International Emerging Designer Awards, which gives emerging designers a chance to showcase their collections.
iD Dunedin Fashion Week committee chairwoman Susie Staley said the show offered both high-profile and emerging designers an opportunity to show their latest winter collections.
"We like to ensure the show line-up offers a glimpse of new designers on their way to establishing their label, alongside many of our longstanding favourites, as well as a collection from an international guest designer," Ms Staley said.
The show will take place over two nights in March and features the southern hemisphere's longest catwalk at the Dunedin Railway Station.
Organising committee member Margo Barton said the emerging designer awards attracted a high calibre of international and national talent.
"Emerging designers who want their collections to be noticed and take the next big step in their career need to get working on their entries now," she said.
Final-year Otago Polytechnic fashion design student Amy Hutchinson said the awards gave students the chance to make a name for themselves.
"It's our opportunity to ... put ourselves out there and show everyone what we can do and how much we have developed over the three years we have been [at polytechnic]."
A successful show could lead to job offers or being offered support from industry players, she said.
