Earlier this month the Otago Daily Times reported the theft of the clone trooper by a young male who took the life-size cut-out while Mr Clark's back was turned.
On Tuesday this week a staff member at Reel Collectibles unpacked a life-size cut-out delivered from toy manufacturer Hasbro's Auckland centre, though neither were expecting a delivery from the company.
He guessed Hasbro had seen media reports on the theft since "it just turned up, no note or anything".
"It's an identical product, just a different character. I was going to give them a yell to say thanks."
While the new trooper was welcomed into the store, he still wanted the original back.
"I would still like the original one back. It's more to do with someone has got away with nicking it."
After the theft at 7.25pm on July 31, the thief was spotted with the trooper in Beach St, where he waited for three friends.
Queenstown police confirmed they had collected closed circuit television (CCTV) footage from a central bar after reports the thieves took the trooper on a night out.
Inquiries were continuing.
After two weeks and no sightings, Mr Clark said he did not hold much hope of it being returned, originally fearing it might be "at the bottom of the lake".
