A 44-year-old Alexandra woman had her driver's licence suspended for 28 days after police said she was caught driving with a breath alcohol level of 767mcg, nearly twice the legal limit.

Sergeant Dave Greaves, of Alexandra, said the woman was stopped on Kelman Rd about 1.30pm after an off-duty police officer reported her driving in a concerning manner in the New World car park.

The woman was the sole occupant of the car.

She will appear in the Alexandra District Court on July 26.
