Detective Duh and the kidnapper: a mystery tale

Hi. My name is Kathleen, obviously, as this is my diary.

If you are reading this, you are either my nosy brother, or my mum.

If you are Will, "Sod off"!

If you are Mum, please stop reading, as this is my personal diary.

I am writing this in bed, and I can hear one of my parents snoring from across the hallway, and surprisingly, I can also hear a mouse tiptoeing up the stairs.

It is probably Dad. Wait a minute, who is ... !

---------

Detective Duh here. This is my journal.

If you are reading this, I would advise you to stop, as I am a detective.

I am currently investigating the Kathleen kidnapping.

I am searching Kathleen's room, and I have to say, this kidnapper is a dumbo, as he used the door handle, which I have swabbed for fingerprints, and soon I will go back to the police laboratory to analyse them.

----------

Where am I?

Uugh, I just woke up and my arm is throbbing painfully.

All I know is that I was in bed, writing and this crazy guy came in and stabbed me in the arm with a syringe.

He's sitting in the room with me. I open my mouth to ask him a question: "Who are you?"

---------

Aha! The computer found a match to the fingerprint. Vincent O'Donnal. He just escaped from prison.

Don't see anyone out but me. I will make him suffer, because of what he did to me and my family.

---------

I'm so scared. I want my mum. I don't know what to do.

He said that if I make a wrong move, he will shoot me.

He asked me what my mum's cellphone number was.

I said, truthfully, I didn't know.

He screamed some stuff about lying and shot me right in the arm.

The pain is excruciating. I've never felt anything like it.

Blood is pouring out of the wound.

I feel dizzy. I think I might ...

---------

I don't know how, but somehow the kidnapper got Kathleen's mum's cellphone number.

We tapped the line and we're tracing the cell back to its origin.

The kidnapper is demanding a ransom of $1 million.

Oh what, he hung up. We weren't able to complete the tracing.

We'll have to keep searching.

---------

My head is swimming. I can't think straight.

I woke up a couple of minutes ago and there is a pool of blood next to me.

My kidnapper gave me a dirty roll of bandage to wrap around my wound.

I refused because it was dirty.

He forced me to wrap the bandage on, threatening to shoot me again.

He then sauntered out of the room.

OMG! He left his phone on the table.

Now's my chance to escape.

---------

A miracle just happened. Kathleen somehow managed to ring her mother's cellphone and she says she's inside some kind of large abandoned warehouse! I'm on my way.

---------

That was close. I nearly got caught.

He walked in, like five seconds after I had put the phone down.

He found out anyway. He checked his phone and found out I had made a ...

---------

Owwee! I am sore all over.

Apparently, according to Mum and the doctors, I got hit on the head quite hard and I was knocked unconscious for several days.

I have something the doctors call amnesia and I can't remember what happened for the past two days.

The police, the doctors, Mum, Dad and I have read my diary from when I got kidnapped.

The doctors say that I will be here for a while so I can recover from being shot and having concussion.

I don't care, so long as I am safe and can still see my mum and dad.
