Pictured at Kelvin Heights’ Jardine Park are (from left) Altitude Tours owner Heidi Farren, trust representatives Karen O’Donahoo and Neil Simpson, and Kiwi Welcome founder Sam Brough.
Mr Brough, who is on a mission to prove sustainable tourism can work, launched Kiwi Welcome about two months ago.
Its purpose was to "transform tourism into a force for good" by incentivising visitors to travel in a more thoughtful way, and generate funds to preserve the attributes the region’s tourism was built on, Mr Brough said.
The funds were presented at Jardine Park.
