The Dunedin District Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of a man named as an alleged co-offender in gang-related drug dealing charges.
Michael Logan Wong-Tong (25), of Dunedin, did not appear when his case was called in court yesterday.
Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Knox told Judge Dominic Flatley the police believed Wong-Tong was "looking to leave the country".
Wong-Tong is charged jointly with Mongrel Mob Notorious members Korrey Teeati Cook, Mason James Purvis and Wally Douglas TeWhaiti, with possessing cannabis for sale or supply and conspiring to sell cannabis last December 22.
Cook, Purvis and Te Whaiti have been remanded to May 22 on charges from the Dunedin-led police investigation which resulted in the arrest this week of 10 people, five from Dunedin, four from the West Coast and one from Tapanui.
Cook was remanded in custody by consent on Tuesday and Purvis and TeWhaiti on bail with a registrar's adjournment.
Two other men, one charged with dishonest conversion of trust funds and one accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice by interfering with Crown witnesses, were also granted registrar's adjournments.
