The trial of a man and a woman accused of murdering convicted paedophile Glen Stinson began in the High Court at Palmerston North today.
Aubrey Harrison, 27, and a 31-year-old woman, whose name has been suppressed, pleaded not guilty to the July 2007 killing at Foxton.
The trial is set down for eight days, with at least 25 witnesses to be called by the Crown.
A third man, Bruce Tamatea, 46, pleaded guilty to the murder in May.
Greg King is appearing for Harrison and Mike Antunovic for the accused woman.
The battered body of Stinson was found dumped in the driveway of a poultry farm in Wylie Road, Foxton, in July last year.
Stinson, 57, had a history of sex offences against young girls dating back to 1967.
He had been due to appear in Palmerston North District Court on charges that went back several years - including the attempted rape of a girl under 12.
