Contribution recognised

Saddle Hill Community Board chairman Scott Weatherall was recognised for his contribution to Dunedin Marine Search and Rescue on Monday night.

He was presented with its volunteer of the year award during an educational community meeting at the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club about crossing the Taieri Mouth bar safely — an event he helped bring together.

Mr Weatherall is finishing up with the organisation after about 20 years’ involvement, including as a member of its committee.
