Rugby: Hurricanes make changes for Cheetahs

Lock James Broadhurst and second five-eighths Charlie Ngatai will make their first starts of the season on Saturday when the Hurricanes host the Cheetahs at Westpac Stadium.

The duo have both seen time off the bench this year but they will get their chance in a match that will be the Cheetahs' last on their tour of Australia and New Zealand. In their last meeting in 2011, the Hurricanes edged the Cheetahs 50-47 in Bloemfontein.

Karl Lowe has returned from injury to start at openside flanker against the Cheetahs in what will be his first appearance for the Hurricanes since he played against the Waratahs in the final round of the Super Rugby competition in 2010.

The Hurricanes are searching for their fourth win of the season after their dramatic 26-25 defeat of the Blues last Friday. The Cheetahs have just one win from five games this season and sit at the bottom of the South African conference.

Hurricanes side to play the Cheetahs at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, on Saturday (5.30pm): Andre Taylor, Cory Jane, Conrad Smith (c), Charlie Ngatai, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Victor Vito, Karl Lowe, Faifili Levave, Jason Eaton, James Broadhurst, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Dane Coles, Tristan Moran. Reserves: Motu Matu'u, Michael Bent, Brad Shields, Jack Lam, Chris Eaton, Daniel Kirkpatrick, Jayden Hayward.
