Sledging fun

Oliver Paterson is making the most of his school holidays. The 10-year-old was sledging on Waikaka Station yesterday, near Gore.

Dad Ross said he and his two siblings had been enjoying the snow despite the chill.

"It has been pretty cold and today [Wednesday] was the first day the kids could really enjoy it."

Mr Paterson said, despite appearances, the snow was only about 60cm deep.
