Organiser of the five-part triathlon series Adrian Bailey said entries for the previous three triathlons and related events had exceeded expectations and he hoped this weekend would be no different.
The fourth triathlon would take place on the privately owned Ben Lomond Station and Mr Bailey said this was a unique opportunity for participants to see some great terrain and scenery.
"It is great country out there and this is an exclusive opportunity for competitors to run and bike over the private land."
The station would host seven events this weekend: the triathlon, the duathlon, the Du It, the Kids Tri and the mountain sky run and sky bike rides.
The Sky Run (10km) and Sky Rides (20km and 50km options) were new to the series and had been incorporated into the Moke Lake leg.
Mr Bailey said the off-road races would be of similar terrain to the Lake Hayes and Paradise triathlons, while the sky run and rides would be a great challenge for those keen to take on Ben Lomond.
He expected another good turnout of competitors, as numbers since the first triathlon in December had been impressive.
Moke Lake events
• Triathlon: 750m swim or 4km kayak in Moke Lake followed by a 20km off-road mountain-bike leg heading north of Moke Lake with several river crossings and a 6km run around the lake.
The triathlon can be completed individually or in a team of 2 or 3 people.
• Duathlon: 1.5km run starting at the edge of Moke Lake followed by a 20km bike leg (same as triathlon) and a 6km run around Moke Lake.
• Du It challenge: 1.5km run (same as duathlon) followed by a 10km bike leg and ending with another 1.5km run, starting and finishing at the transition.
• Kids Tri: 250m swim in Moke Lake followed by a 5km mountain-bike ride heading north from the lake and ending with a 1.5km run.
• 10km Ben Lomond Assault: A challenging run up the Ben Lomond hillside and back.
• 20km Wheely Good Ride: 20km uphill into Ben Lomond Station.
• 50km Sky Ride mountain bike: A course further into Ben Lomond Station, one similar to that of the moonlight mountain marathon run held in January.
