A digger fire in a forestry block near Milton has been brought under control after two helicopters were called in to fight it.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire crews arrived at Manuka Creek where a digger was "well ablaze", at 12.20pm.
The digger is about 20 metres away from the trees.
Fire crews had issues gaining access to the fire and two helicopters were called in to fight the blaze.
The fire had been brought under control and one appliance remained at the scene.
