Fire crews are tackling a blaze at Omarama golf club.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand southern fire communications centre shift manager Brent Dunn confirmed teams from Omarama and Otematata were attending but a tanker from Twizel had been turned back.
"The fire is under control. It is 100m by 50m in size."
He said it was not threatening property.
