An 18-year-old Saudi Arabian has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a relative with a broken light bulb in Queenstown on Sunday morning.
A 21-year-old male was taken to Lakes District Hospital with wounds to his torso and legs after the incident but was later released.
The younger man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Police say he used a broken light bulb from a lamp in the hotel room in which he was staying.
The man has been held in police care and will be remanded on bail until his appearance at the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
The men are both Saudi Arabians visiting on student visas. They reside in Christchurch where they both attend an English language school.
