Late entries from Samoa and Papua New Guinea have seen the postponement of the Oceania under-20 women's championships due to be played in Auckland later this month.
The tournament, which acts at the qualifying event for August's Under-20 World Cup in Japan, was due to take place in Auckland from January 16-20. Only New Zealand and New Caledonia had previously entered but the Oceania executive felt it prudent to postpone the tournament to allow other teams time to prepare. They will look at new dates and a possible new venue.
The tournament will need to be played at least three months prior to the World Cup.
