Today we publish the first entries in the Otago Daily Times 2011-12 Magic Moments photography competition.

Readers are invited to share their favourite holiday images, with every published photograph winning a prize. Entries will be published daily until January 7.

Email photographs (in JPEG format at 200dpi) to magicmoments@odt.co.nz.

Please include the photographer's name, a description of who and what the photograph shows, where and when it was taken, where those in the photograph come from, and the ages of any children or teenagers pictured.

Please also supply a contact telephone number.
