Three missing trampers have been found "cold and miserable'' by a police dog.
Inspector Ben Offner said the search and rescue team found the three trampers on a track in the Waitakere Ranges, west of Auckland, at about 7am today.
Police Search and Rescue dog Quake tracked down the trio, Mr Offner said.
The trampers were well, but were "cold and miserable'' after spending the night lost in the bush, he said.
The trio were reported missing in the Waitakere Ranges about nine o'clock last night.
The trampers had become separated from the main group of 11 and didn't make it back to their vehicles on Anawhata Rd.
