Roxburgh's diverse community has made a big splash on one of the town’s Victorian buildings.
A mural by Auckland street artists Ross Liew (aka TrustMe) and Hayley King (aka Flox) has transformed the building at 96 Scotland St.
Ms King said the final mural was a combination of research conducted by them on the influence of different cultures from the past to the present in the Teviot Valley, and insights from a series of workshops they conducted last week with members of the community.
"The main objective was to bring the different cultures together."
The mural combined influences from countries including Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, China and Scotland, as well as Maori culture.
"For me, the mural design is very busy; there is a lot of content," she said.
The project was developed by the Teviot Valley Community Development Scheme alongside the Central Otago District Arts Trust.
