CrossFit fitness coach Ben "Speedy" Thompson is calling on athletes to challenge him in a day-long competition at the Caledonian sports ground on December 4.
"I am the fittest person in Dunedin across the board," Mr Thompson reiterated this week.
"There isn't anything I can't do."
Mr Thompson elicited a strong response when he declared himself the city's fittest man in June.
"Everyone keeps challenging me to running races. But running is just one skill. Whatever people have done - cycling, running, swimming - they seem to see that as the ultimate test of fitness.
"This contest will be about general physical preparedness."
CrossFit manager Grant Hughes will set the events, which will combine gymnastics, weight-lifting and aerobic exercise.
The specifics will not be announced until registrations close, two weeks before the competition.
Contestants must register and pay an entry fee.
The winner will receive a trophy and be crowned "fittest man in Dunedin".
A competition to find the fittest women in Dunedin will run at the same time.
From Monday, entry forms will be available from CrossFit, 172 Princes St, and at www.crossfitdunedin.co.nz
