An estimated 2000 All Black and French fans filled the fan zone to watch the match on a giant 9m-by-5m screen on Saturday night, 2011 Rugby World Cup co-ordinator Sandy Graham said yesterday.
"It was a great crowd and a fantastic atmosphere," she said.
"All the families and kids were upstairs and people wanting to have a drink were downstairs."
"It went so well that we'll be reviewing whether to do it again for the knock-out games."
The All Blacks won the match 37-17.
