9 general practices are part of the Health Care Home programme and five more began the journey in July 2019, improving access to care for patients and supporting services in the Southern health system.
These patients were seen by: 400 GPs, registrars & locums

who undertook 1.153million patient contacts last year!
That's 93% of the Southern district's total population of 332,020 residents.
56,450 are ages 65+. Our population is slightly older when compared to the national average.
8 days. The length of stay on the older persons rehabilitation ward has decreased by eight days compared to the same period last year. This is because more older people are supported at home.
3119 babies born in SDHB facilities
13 renal transplants with the 14th (live donor/recipient) scheduled for the 23rd of December.
