Cakes were cut and trees were planted as dozens of residents and community leaders gathered for the Reap birthday commemorations at Alexandra’s Community House.
Following the cake-cutting, attendees moved outside, where a time capsule was buried and a tree planted on site.
In her address to guests, Central Otago Reap manager Bernie Leper said it was rare to have an opportunity to ‘‘reflect on an organisation which was 40 years old ... or young’’.
