Suppression continues for man charged after St Heliers death

A man charged following the death of an elderly man in the upmarket Auckland suburb of St Heliers last month has had his name suppression continued.

The 50-year-old was charged with assault after Brian Lindsay Culpan, 72, of Tindalls Beach, Rodney, died following an altercation at a Maskell St house.

An interim name suppression order was continued when he appeared in Auckland District Court today.

He will reappear in court in November.

Provisional post-mortem results, released by the coroner, indicated Mr Culpan died from a neck injury consistent with a fall.
