The area between Cashel and Tuam Sts will be targeted with the aim to also make the street more attractive and people-friendly.
Christchurch’s tram route will be extended also along Lichfield St, down Poplar St and back up High St.
Detailed design work and some property purchases need to be completed before work on the High St upgrade can begin.
