Four job losses have been confirmed for Alexandra's Z Energy station as a result of the site's switch to a self-service operation.
The fuel distributor confirmed earlier this week the Alexandra site was to make the transition to a round-the-clock ''pay at pump'' facility in August.
A spokeswoman for Z Energy would not confirm whether the staff members would receive redundancy payouts.
''We won't be disclosing individual contract arrangements, but the four staff members are being supported,'' she said.
One staff member was to remain for ''about a month'' during the transition period to help customers adjust.
The move at the Tarbert St station would serve as a ''trial'' for the fuel company.
Z Energy said it would review how the Alexandra self-service facility performed first before making any decisions for other areas.
Staff at the Alexandra site had been receiving assistance from Z in developing CVs and relocation opportunities.
