Cure Kids youngsters (front, from left) Isobella Kloogh (15), of Dunedin, Dylan Booth (13), of Mosgiel, and Moneka Prasad (14), of Dunedin, cooked pancakes in Queenstown on Saturday, which were judged by MasterChef New Zealand winner Nadia Lim (rear, left) and The Almighty Johnsons star Ben Barrington (rear, right).

The pair turned up as surprise pancake competition judges as part of the annual Cure Kids "Ticket to Hope" trip to Queenstown for 15 children with life-threatening conditions.

Miss Lim said she had seen some potential while judging. "I was talking to Dylan before and I think if there was a junior MasterChef he would be a good candidate because he's got a creative mind as well as a love for cooking."
