Fire crews are battling a blaze that has engulfed a home in Waitati this afternoon.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said a member of the public reported the fire about 1.50pm and the dwelling was now fully involved.
Six fire appliances are fighting the fire in Orokonui Rd, on the edge of the settlement just north of Dunedin.

The fire soon escalated to a second alarm and volunteer fire crews from Waitati, Waikouaiti and Palmerston were at the scene, along with three appliances from Dunedin City Station.
There were no reports of injuries and no one was trapped inside, the spokesman said.
