Laws taking OUSA to court

Otago regional councillor Michael Laws has confirmed he is bringing a defamation case against the Otago University Students' Association, and that it relates to an article that appeared in student magazine Critic Te Arohi.

Mr Laws is listed on court documents as representing himself.

Parties appeared via audiovisual link for a hearing in the Dunedin District Court yesterday morning.

A date has not yet been set for a further court appearance.

When contacted by the Otago Daily Times, neither party would elaborate on the details of the case.
