Design students have turned their ideas into reality, selling items from notebooks to printed clothes, jewellery and hot-water bottle covers at the polytechnic's hub building in Forth St.
Ms Wood (21) had trawled op-shops to find the records and bright designs for the straps and sides of her bags.
''Nice happy designs work well with records,'' she said.
Ms Wood's creations sell for $65 each.
She said she got inspiration from an industrial design course she had also taken part in.
About 40 first and second-year students were in the hub yesterday.
School of Design senior lecturer Tracey Kennedy said the market would run for three days.
An exhibition of students' work - entitled ''Fuse''- will run at the polytechnic hub until August 27.
