About 100 pupils, parents and grandparents took part in the school's annual Matariki festival, which included groups of pupils with lanterns walking through the streets of the town to the school.
Once at the school, a short mihi (speech) on the meaning of Matariki was held followed by a kapa haka performance and a shared meal.
Warrington School secretary Molly Wright said the festival continued to grow each year as the pupils learnt more about the Maori celebration and passed on what they had learnt to their parents and grandparents.
