Glass blower Geoff Brunker puts the finishing touches to a unicorn during the final day of the Original Gypsy Fair at Dunedin’s Kensington Oval yesterday.

The fair, which opened on Friday and wound up yesterday, was back in Dunedin after skipping the Oval last year because of bad weather.

A cool southerly kept the crowds away on Saturday, but the sun returned on Sunday and drew a crowd eager to sample the mixture of arts and crafts, food, music and games in fine weather.

The fair has been travelling around New Zealand for more than 25 years, and this weekend’s stopover in Dunedin was its 28th event of the 2017-18 season.
