A rescue helicopter and ambulance attended a crash where a driver was seriously injured in rural Southland early this morning.
A Dunedin Police spokesman said police were called about 2.20am after the driver of a Ford Falcon crashed into a power pole on Old Coach Rd, near Kaiwera.
The Serious Crash Unit were investigating, he said.
St John spokesman Elliot Steel said the driver was transported to Dunedin hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
